A Guide to Zumba at DC Dance
1555 Washington Ave., San Leandro, CA 94577
As you read this Guide, please know that we appreciate you and that
everything can be resolved in communication. Happy dancing!
Your Agreement with DC Dance Center. Since Zumba can be a highly physical activity, you are responsible for checking with your doctor that you are in good physical condition to take the class. Here’s what you’re agreeing to every time you sign-in and take the class: “In consideration of my participation in the activities and ZUMBA classes being held at DC Dance Center, 1555 Washington Ave. in San Leandro and to the fullest permitted by law, I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless all Instructors, Assistants, and Staff of DC Dance Center. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the releasees from any loss, liability, damage or cost, including court and attorney fees. I am in good physical health and I know the liabilities in participating in a physical exercise class. ”This clause is on every sign-in sheet. You must print and sign-in every time you come to class. You will be unable to participate if you do not do so.
Safety. While Zumba is a fun workout, we also make safety a priority. We will warm you up and cool you down at the end of the session. If you come late into class, make sure you warm up: move at a less intense pace for a few minutes, avoiding quick high impact movement. If you have to leave early, please let us know beforehand so we don't worry about you. Also, remember to take a moment to deep breathe and stretch a little bit before you go on your way in order to cool your body down.
NO BABIES, TODDLERS, KIDS or TEENS in or outside the Z-room during Z-class. To get the most out of your Zumba session, please leave your children at home. This is YOUR time. For the SAFETY of your kids, do not bring them. DC Dance is NOT responsible for your child should you bring him/her to class. Plus, DC does not provide babysitting. If your child would like to take the class with you, we recommend that she/he be at least 12 years or older. We cannot guarantee our music to be free from “adult content.” Some of our songs and moves are “spicy” and not appropriate for kids.
Fees. All Zumba classes at DC are “drop-in” (i.e. pay per class, before class) or purchase a class card. There is no membership fee. You may start any time. First-timers (newbies) get their FIRST class for $5. After the first class, drop-in rate is $10 per class.
Class Cards. Purchasing a class card is the most economical way to Zumba at DC. Cash or checks only. NO credit cards accepted. $25-fee for bounced checks.
Class card prices:
$125 for 20 classes
$83 for 10 classes
For seniors (65 and over):
$104 for 20 classes
$75 for 10 classes
When you buy a class card (also called “punch card”), read the back of the card before giving your $ to the desk angel. It says: “This non-refundable punch card expires on the date written on the front. If paying for guests with this card, cardholder must take the class with guests. If sharing a card, sharing partners are responsible for working out the ‘split.’ DC Dance is not responsible for keeping track of the split.’” Yes, dancers may “split” a card. You may keep your card with you or leave it on file with us. The punch cards have expiration dates. 20-class cards expire 6 months from date of purchase. 10-class cards expire in 3 months. However, if you need to extend the expiration date, just let us know.
Newbie-Bringer Perk. Bringers of newbies (first-timers) may get their class for $5 if they pay cash for their class that day/night. If bringer does not bring cash, their card gets punched; therefore, no discount.
Birthday Class. You get one FREE class during you birthday week or month. Show us your I.D. during that time. You can also put your month and date under the “Bday” column on the sign-up sheet so we can remember to celebrate you during your month!
